The Audioengine 2’s were first shown in May at the Home Entertainment 2007 Show in New York, the same show in which the 5’s were awarded Home Theater’s 2007 Rave Award for Best Entry-Level Speaker.

In a Class of Their Own
Unlike most multimedia speakers, the Audioengine 2 cabinets are constructed of wood (18mm thick MDF), rather than plastic. The woofer cones, of high-quality Kevlar with custom voice coils and magnets, produce surprisingly deep, smooth bass and mid-range. The tweeters, silk-dome and neodymium fluid stabilized (the same tweeters used in the Audioengine 5’zs), provide sweet highs. The amplifier is a class AB linear design, for true sound reproduction.
The Audioengine 2’s have 1/8” mini-jack and RCA inputs as well as a volume control on the rear panel. They’re uniquely suited for desktop computer use, but are also perfect for the bedroom or kitchen.
